The São Paulo State University’s School of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences (FCAV-UNESP) in Jaboticabal, Brazil makes public the opening of applications for a PD scholarship in the area of Soil Science/Plant Production, funded by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP). This grant will be linked to the Amazônia+10 initiative and will aim to generate DRIS/CND standards for cocoa foliar diagnosis and fruit analysis to assess quality.
The Amazon+10 Initiative was created by FAPESP in November 2021 and involves partnerships with the National Council of State Government ST&I Departments (CONSECTI) and National Council of State Research Foundations (CONFAP). It has already issued two calls for proposals with the aim of supporting collaborative research projects oriented to biodiversity conservation, adaptation to climate change, protection of traditional peoples and communities, urban challenges, and the bioeconomy as contributions to economic development policy for the Amazon.
For the position, you must meet the following requirements:
– PhD in Soil Science or Plant Production obtained less than 7 years ago;
– Experience with research in DRIS/CND diagnostic methods and chemical/biochemical analyses;
– Modeling of DRIS/CND formulas;
– Exclusive dedication and availability to live in Jaboticabal and travel to the Amazon.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 9,047.40 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent on items directly related to the research activity.
